University Statement on Antisemitic Graffiti Found in the International Affairs Building

October 02, 2025

Antisemitic graffiti was discovered etched on a desk in Lehman Library in Columbia’s International Affairs Building on Tuesday. The graffiti was immediately reported and removed, and the incident is under investigation by our Public Safety team and the NYPD. Defacing property with hateful language is unacceptable and will not be tolerated at Columbia. We strongly condemn this despicable act of antisemitic hate, especially during the Jewish High Holidays.
