Peter Shea
Peter Shea is the senior media producer in the Office of Public Affairs. His work in media started at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he received a B.F.A. in Film and Television. His professional resume includes producing and editing stories for the arts broadcast magazine “State of the Arts” for New Jersey Public Television; being the series producer on the documentary series “Our Town” for Maryland Public Television; and producing promos and the annual live auction broadcast for WGBH Public Television in Boston.
After leaving PBS, Peter was the senior video producer for the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History until joining the School of Professional Studies at Columbia University as a media specialist in 2022. He is set to graduate in May with a master’s in journalism from Columbia, where he serves as the representative for part-time students for the Columbia Journalism School's student government.
Peter enjoys playing music, traveling, and is a huge fan of classic Hollywood cinema. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Sarah, their cats, Phoebe and Candy, and their dog, Jolene.
