Adam Stephan

Adam Stephan is the Director of Media Relations for the Office of Public Affairs. Before joining Columbia, Adam spent more than two decades in broadcast journalism, most recently as managing editor at WABC-TV, where he oversaw editorial content for nearly 50 hours of weekly newscasts. Under his leadership, the station earned four consecutive Emmy Awards for News and Station Excellence. He previously served as an assignment editor at both WABC-TV and WNBC-TV, managing live breaking news, coordinating coverage across teams, and guiding newsroom operations during major events, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adam holds a BA in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Communication Studies from Northeastern University. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing golf, hosting backyard BBQs, and cheering on the Islanders, Knicks, Yankees, and Giants.
