Introduction to Government Relations

Media and Public Relations:

Nathan Robb, assistant vice president of government relations, Alexis Walters, director of government relations and Audrey Litvak, assistant director of government relations discuss the issues, methods, and best practices regarding how Columbia interacts with federal, state, and city government partners. They also discuss civic engagement opportunities on campus and upcoming challenges. This workshop was held on August 5, 2022. 

Nathan Robb

Nathan serves as associate vice president for government relations in Government and Community Affairs. In this role he focuses on federal and state policy, advocating on a variety of priorities for the University, including federal support for scientific research and student financial aid.

Alexis Walters

Alexis works closely across the University on key state, local, and neighborhood priorities.  Alexis has a breadth of experience in and around the local, state, and federal government.

Audrey Litvak

Audrey serves as the assistant director of government affairs working closely with the University on federal, state, and local issues.

Loftin Flowers

Loftin is the vice president for government relations and leads the University’s engagement and advocacy efforts with federal, state, and city government.
