West Harlem Development Corporation In-Kind Benefit Overview
Columbia University has committed to make available to the local community access to a range of existing Columbia University facilities, services and amenities. For more informaton, see Section II.E of the West Harlem Community Benefits Agreement.
Criteria for consideration:
- Be a nonprofit organization based in West Harlem (MCD9); and/or
- Be a nonprofit organization serving the West Harlem community;
- Does not include NYC/NYS governmental agencies (e.g. the Board of Education).
- Application requests must be reasonable, viable and conducive to space needs.
In-Kind Benefit Request Review Process:
- The application will be open one week per month (first Monday-Friday of every month).
- The application should be for an event planned 2-6 months in advance.
- CU-GCA will connect applicants with the Columbia event planning team to destermine space availability and obtain a price quote for the event.
- After receiving estimated costs for the request from Columbia University, WHDC will approve/deny applications based on their review.
- If approved, WHDC and CU-GCA will sign the event contract.
