The past week has been unlike any other in Columbia's history.

We have and continue to support Interim President Armstrong’s approach, including today’s presentation of the University’s progress.

As I have shared with you, we have been working this year on critical priorities for our University.

Let me be clear about our path forward: it is our utmost responsibility to uphold and deliver on our academic mission, always.

I am writing heartbroken to inform you that we had federal agents from the DHS in two University residences tonight. 

Today, the Columbia University Judicial Board determined findings and issued sanctions related to the occupation of Hamilton Hall last spring.

At this challenging moment for our community, a message from Interim President Katrina Armstrong. 

Columbia is committed to complying with all legal obligations and supporting our student body and campus community.

There have been reports of ICE around campus. Columbia has and will continue to follow the law.

Columbia’s mission is to teach, create, and advance knowledge.

We have confirmed that four Columbia students were arrested as part of Tuesday’s disruption at Barnard College.
