Columbia University is a member of numerous organizations which represent the interests of the higher education community in Washington, Albany, and beyond. More information on some of the organizations in which we participate can be found below.
Higher Education
In 1900, Columbia was among the founding members of the AAU which today is comprised of the 62 leading public and private research universities in the United States and Canada. AAU focuses on issues of importance to research-intensive universities, including funding for scientific research, research policy, and undergraduate and graduate education. www.aau.edu

Association of nearly 1,000 member institutions representing the country’s private, nonprofit colleges and universities. NAICU’s policy focus is on issues affecting student aid, tax policy, and government regulation. www.naicu.edu
